A Community Manager with RBC and has worked with RBC for 17 years and in the industry for 30 years. In her current role, Adejisola supports four branches, and is responsible for the overall community growth, an integrator of internal and external centers of influence while leveraging the support and collaboration of the team and leaders. Prior to this role she was Manager, Financial Planning Associate, GTR, where she led a team of 53 Associates that supported almost 300 Financial Planners in GTR. She provided strategic oversight to the training, coaching and continuous upskilling of the team. 


She was instrumental in creating onboarding training for new to RBC going into the Associate role, a training adopted by National office and embellished to serve the team nationally. She was a Branch Manager, a financial planner and held many other roles in RBC. Adejisola moved into leadership role because of her passion to build leaders. She was a Steering committee member of Federation of Black Canadian, and volunteers with JA Central Ontario, Access Employment and TRIEC, and an ambassador with Algoma University. She is the founder of Council of Nigerian Professionals, and African Caribbean Council of Halton. She is a board member with Rotary Club of Milton and United Way Halton and Hamilton. A lifelong learner, she completed her EMBA in Digital Transformation with DeGroote Business School.


She holds multiple educational and professional certificates. Adejisola is an author, she published her first book April 2022, “Authenticity: How My Why Me Moments Shaped My Life”. A non-fiction book that inspires people at various stages of their lives. She is in the process of completing her next book, “Be Limitless,” a book that will inspire greatness in everyone that reads it. Adejisola has received many accolades for her work in the community, and professional life. She is married with children.


Abbey Salami is a focused individual that has a great passion for continuous success. A Financial Advisor, Mortgage Broker and Project Management Professional with background in accounting, economics and commercial management. An Executive Director at Tasal Capital Inc., worked in various aspects of the financial industries. Always taking a common-sense approach to lead as an executive administrator. 


His pragmatic approach was and is always a success: Offering more than 26 years experience of financial management and human capital management experience within the financial services industries. Result oriented and goal driven individual with proven ability of pioneering and implementing change-management. Proactive and astute in problem identifying and solving in complex environments. A community builder per excellence.

Dr. Oluwakemi Okwuegbuna (Dr. Kemi) has been a medical doctor of over 15 years, and a hematological pathologist for about 8 years. She currently is the Clinical Science Director in one of the largest clinic chains in Canada. Dr. Kemi is not just a dedicated healthcare professional but also a compassionate soul committed to making a positive impact, going above and beyond the call of duty, and tirelessly serving through voluntary work. She is actively involved in community-focused programs and her dedication to community well-being is reflected in various charitable initiatives from organizing health awareness campaigns to art awareness in the African mind.


She intends to continue by advocating for public health, social justice, community connection and togetherness. She’s a board member of the Association of Nigerian Committee in Milton (ANCiM) and volunteers in church. As a mother of 3, she believes in selflessness, service, support, and togetherness.  She loves traveling, reading, and entertaining.


Akin is an IT & Cybersecurity specialist with a passion for community engagement and mentorship.

Akin’s professional journey in IT and Security spans 14 years of dedication and continuous learning, he serves as the Director; technology, community engagement and publicity at ACCH.


Beyond his professional role, Akin is a dedicated mentor with an unwavering commitment to giving back to the community, who finds immense joy in nurturing young minds. He believes in empowering the next generation with knowledge and guidance, fostering their growth and inspiring them to reach their full potential.


Akin leverages his technical expertise to bridge the gap between technology and community engagement, he ensures that the organization’s impactful work reaches a wider audience, amplifying its mission and achievements.

Edosa Adams-Idode is a lawyer with a passion for Community service, advocacy and mentorship. She is recipient of the distinguished Queen Silver Jubilee Pin for her selfless leadership in the Community. 


As an advocate for Community service, Ms. Adams-Idode has championed activities to promote Canadian multilateral culture values and inclusive leadership such as:


  1. Art Mentorship for children.
  2. Black Excellence Scholarship Award for Grade 12 students across Halton Region
  3. Presenter at the Mandatory Information Program for the Superior Court of Justice, Brampton  
  4. Parent Representative for Catholic Parents Council (CIPC) for the Town of Milton and Halton Hills.


Professionally, Ms. Adams-Idode is the principal partner of Adams-Idode Law Professional Corporation. As an erudite lawyer, she is deeply committed to promoting access to justice and is an active voice to highlight the impact of Domestic Violence and Child Protection matters across Ontario. She is also appointed as a Dispute Resolution Officer (DRO) for the Superior Court of Justice (SCJ) for Toronto, St. Catharines, Kitchener and London, Ontario.

In her spare time, she loves to travel and is always the loudest cheerleader at her children’s basketball tournaments…

Christen McIntosh is a dynamic and goal-oriented professional that leverages 24+ years of experience in steering mutually beneficial business partnerships, spearheading highly effective teams, and delivering innovative strategies to promote business growth.


Proven success in monitoring projects and employee performance to expedite the realization of organizational goals. Adept at constructing effective communication plans to stimulate, excite and engage teams in alignment with corporate and societal initiatives.


Christen works for a global power solutions company called Eaton corporation as the National Small Projects and Customer Service Manager in Burlington, Ontario, Canada.


As an Ambassador for Inclusion and Diversity, Christen supports direct reports, colleagues, and managers, by offering guidance on creating a culture of inclusion through effectively leveraging diversity among all employees and stakeholders. Christen believes that it is critical that representation of institutions, elected officials, organizations etc. reflect the makeup of our diverse populations across Canada and beyond. As an ambassador and I&D training she ensures managers and employees are culturally competent to serve the vast diversity, which is what continues to drive her passion and engagement.


Christen believes that now more than ever, is the time to discuss racial injustice and inequality within our societies. Christen believes that engaging in and encouraging others to value differences and share different perspectives within the community,

workplace etc. will lead to greatness. Through this ongoing journey, Christen continues to collaborate with MP’s, MPPs, elected officials, law makes, educational leaders, policy makers etc. for meaningful sustainable change to happen.

ADVOCACY & MEANINGFUL CHANGE

■ Black History Month: Annual celebration of our heritage in all the towns and cities in Halton Region


■ Set up Black Caucus in all the Towns/Cities to encourage the meeting of minds, and collaborate on issues to move our community forward.


■ To continuously connect with people in our community, and other grassroots organizations to understand areas of improvement. Be the voice to make change happen for our African Caribbean community through continuous and persistent advocacy to address equitable dealings that affect us. We will work will all thought leaders and be the face for change and partnership, solicit ideas, and be a part of problem resolution in our region.


SUPPORTING AN INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY

■ Let's Talk Virtual Series:  is a virtual platform where we educate, provide information, and have those difficult conversations within our community, between leaders of other local organizations, elected officials, and leaders of public and private organizations in the Halton Region. This is an avenue to continue the dialogue and work together for a better community to ensure no one is left behind irrespective of race, creed, religion, and more.


■ Through collaboration with other local organizations in the region. We are aware that there are many organizations doing wonderful things in the Region. We are focused on proactively reaching out and working together to make a meaningful impact and tangible change in our community.


BUILD AND STRENGTHEN OUR AFRICAN CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY

■ Social and Economic Empowerment: We want to support our community in improving our social-economic outlook through workshops, seminars, and training. Continuously educate ourselves on the impact of volunteering, taking advantage of subject matter experts within and outside of our community to provide resources. Explore various ways to improve our economic outlook through various improvement mechanisms and resources available to us.


■ Youth Empowerment: Our focus is on our youths. They are the leaders of tomorrow, and we want to ensure they have the resources to be their best self. We will continue to provide targeted workshops and seminars to encourage, provide information and educate them and their families.


■ Professional Empowerment: For Individuals, Small business owners and Entrepreneurs and Women. Understand the needs and engage in different activities, workshops, seminars and events to empower ourselves.


■ Political Empowerment: Provide relevant support to community members that might be interested in understanding politics better and what it takes to be engaged in the process and run for an elected position.


CULTURAL EDUCATION

Cultural Enlightenment: This is important because and African Caribbean we have very rich and diverse cultures. To be authentic Ambassadors for ourselves, we need to understand our stories, what makes us different. We will continuously learn from each other to do better within ourselves. We will also focus on carrying our allies along through education.
